When you live in a family or society, there is always impact of your actions on others. Our actions with good intentions might have negative effects. So even before doing good, think about the repercussions of your act.
When living in a family, we may show lots of flexibility with children out of love. We may try to save them from the real world. It is good to show flexibility or leadership qualities. But it becomes equally important to know the effect of your actions. May be they are getting more inflexible or follower. So sometime we have to show as a teacher. I saw one of the dumbest criminal of Australia who ends up in a jail. He has right loving parents. When he was committing a robbery in a very foolish way, he knew that he is doing wrong but thought everything will be fine. In his childhood, his parents used to fix things for him and he start believing that things are going to be ok. Sometime, kids gets pressure from their peers and in turn they create pressure to their parents. Now if you take pressure, they will never learn the real things and start depending and keep creating pressure in future. One has to show them the right path so that they won’t have problem when they start facing real world. We should not keep fixing things from behind and needs to communicate with them. For some, life may be easy as it is possible that their connections are working behind the scene without their knowledge. One active person in a family may be making all others members lazy. Even if we say that we are friends with them, still we give them lots of privileges which we normally don’t do in case of friends.
If you go thru books, all spiritual leaders are rebellious in nature. Jesus, Mohammad, Buddha, Nanak actually discarded belief system of that time. They gave a new path. This is also an irony that they themselves are rebellions and expecting us to follow them. This is the main reason that you will never find a great leader who followed any other leader. Society is producing more followers. In the end, the path is again challenged by another leader as it becomes obsolete or corrupted with the passage of time. May be leaders are right but still it has created mostly blind followers.
While walking down the street, if you are helping a beggar, you are actually helping him to beg for his whole life. He may not want to work, as begging seems much simple to do. It may look difficult but person might get used to it. Philanthropy is rising in the world, so the dependency on philanthropy. If you keep watering the tree, its roots may not go deep into the soil for search of water and will be uprooted easily with the gust of wind.
Sometime, you do help people unfairly not because of altruism but because of peace or some other reason. It may be making your life easy or intention of his help in distant future. One should be clear about his action that it is not actually a help.If we use a word help, it is actually expecting nothing in return. Otherwise you are doing business.
Next time, if you are not showing love or not helping anybody, don’t feel bad about it. You can have an excuse that you are teaching people regarding the harsh realities of life and helping society in different way.
